Star Trek Beyond, Go Watch It!

The unleashing of the third film of the rebooted series by Paramount Pictures, Star Trek Beyond, has made the Trekkies crazy as the original Star Trek series celebrates its 50th anniversary this year. The film is creating a buzz all around the globe and, Justin Lin (of the First and Furious series) has made it a point that his first directed StarTrek film lives up to its title going above and beyond what the audience expected. Along with the writers, Doug Jung and Simon Pegg, Lin has successfully taken Star Trek Beyond to be the best blockbuster of summer 2016.

The film, like its predecessors, (being the 13th of the series) is not only an action-packed flick with beautiful visuals, wonderful soundtrack by Michael Giacchino, and an excellent chemistry between the known and beloved characters, but also shows the profundity which Justin Lin has handled with expertise.

The movie begins three years after Captain James Tiberius Kirk and his crew left for their five-year exploration of deep space, which we, the Trekkies call Intrepid Space Mission. I think the film goes deeper showing what it takes to be on space for such a long time when Captain Kirk is told, There’s no relative direction in the vastness of space. With this, the film begins an inward journey along with its cult mission, to boldly go where no man has gone before”.

Star Trek Beyond is the best one in the series as many are of the opinion as it comes with action, adventure, adrenaline rush along with huge fun moments, courtesy: Simon Pegg. It’s also a story showing the unity and camaraderie in dire circumstances and, a profundity of showing unfailing faith in humanity. The movie pays tribute to late Leonard Nimoy and late Anton Yelchin who have both passed away since the last Star Trek film.

We see a new villain, Krall, played by Idris Elba. Captain Kirk and the crew of the USS Enterprise crash-land on Krall’s planet and, they must find a way to escape.

With rave reviews around the world, kudos from critics and endless encouragement from the fans worldwide, Star Trek Beyond boldly and steadily went to the top of the box office in its weekend debut. It’s quite obvious as even before the release, Star Trek Beyond was nominated for Best Teaser at the 17th Annual Golden Trailer Awards.

The new enhanced version of the series is being lapped up by the audience proving the fact that the magic and mystery of the Intrepid Space Mission continues.

Go watch and catch up #StarTrekIndia to relive the excitement, to seek out new life and new civilisations”.

  1. I am a big fan of sci-fi movies and have loved the rebooted series as well. I haven’t seen it yet but the coming weekend dates are saved for this, certainly. After reading the review I just can’t wait to see.

  2. I went the first weekend it came out, since our local theatre plays new movies. I have a Senior card, $7 for ticket any time, popcorn and a medium drink.
The Star Trek Beyond got me a little teary eyed. I miss my Dad who worked for NASA and liked the TV series.
I liked the chemistry between characters and the beginning romance for Spock. Fantastic new character in the girl who is using the old ship, as well as the villain, Krall.

  5. Wonderful review Maniparna. Looks like Star Trek Beyond has lived up to its predecessors and captured the imagination of the present generation. I haven’t seen the movies but do distinctly remember the serial.

  6. Wonderful review. Star Trek takes us to early DD serial days. Of course, I can’t forget Persis Khambatta in Star Trek (1979), who actually shaved her head for her role as Ilia. I am going to watch Star Trek Beyond tomorrow. Your review is making me more interested now.
