Love, O, Love

The most primal emotion
A feeling that reinvents yourself
That makes your heart beat for someone else.

That renders eyes to your mind
And, yet makes you blind
To all follies of your beloved.

Sings a song to your heart
Aubade or serenade
The melody touches the right chord.

The incurable insanity
The desire gnawing from within
You and me, love in between.

  1. The incurable insanity indeed haha. Yes love is wonderful, it’s thrilling and makes me smile. We need more love in the world (especially on Mondays) and you’ve certainly inspired me for the day and most probably the week as well.

  2. Love depicted beautifully through the poem. When in love you have a song in your heart, a spring in your step and are oblivious to the obvious follies of your beloved. So very true ! 🙂

  3. Yes, it gives us eyes yet makes us blind! Isn’t it ironic?
It is indeed and insanity but we realise this reality too late!
    Well articulated thoughts!

  4. It seems love is in the air 😀 You’ve truly described a pure unconditional love.. I loved the last stanza. 🙂
