Black velvet wrapped The incongruity and ugliness Revealed by daylight. The darkness oozed Overflowing the stars Layers of night Shrouded itself With a palpable silence And, the wind whispered Poetry of the night.
Night shrouded in layers…. truly layered ! silliness apart,I loved it. Night is my favorite theme as well as the favorite time of my day ..er.. night ..whatever. So much so my other name is ‘Nishachar’ 🙂
“The darkness oozed Overflowing the stars” ~ What a brilliant imagery! Loved the way you brought out the beauty of night! Hugs for writing such amazing words 🙂
The night can bring fears but your view of looking at it so more romantic, thickly layered in complex luxury…yes this is the way to celebrate the dark hours.
Nice

From these lines, the poem is another level – “Layers of night
Shrouded itself”
Loved it, Maniparna.

That’s a really thoughtful way of looking at night hiding the ugliness of the day. O how we need the night too to stay sane! Nice one, Mani.

Oh, I love this. It’s what I call a “real” poem, full of images, words so poetically framed. Lovely!

There is something so poetic and soft with the night.. like a blanket or something soothing hiding all the ugliness of light.

Ah yes – night is very forgiving in the way that the harsh light of day is not. Beautiful lines!

Reminds me of how a first snow covers dirt and makes all new–but you have it happening nightly. Very lovely.

No words to describe it Maniparna, other than Mesmerizing. You weave magic in your poetry.

I love “and the wind whispered poetry of the night.” Beautiful. I, too, love how darkness softens and disguises things that might look harsher by day.
