Mirrors reflecting broken pictures Of layers lying in my mind. I skulked at their outrage! The darker side of earthlings Like that shining silvery moon Waxes and wanes, Sometimes full and sometimes gone Romping around or standing demurely. The other side of existence O, the Mind, gossamer webs Standing alone, interconnected I wish I never knew you!
A powerful piece Mani.. The Darker side of Earthlings.. These questions forever rise.. and fall like the waxing and waning of the moon… When do we ever find that balance… is it twilight or sunrise I know mankind still has much to balance deep within…. ❤ xxx
Love and Peace my dear friend xx
“much to balance deep within”- yes, that’s the essence. It’s easy to fight known enemies but we also have darker sides in our minds which even we ourselves fail to understand. It’s not so easy to keep them at bay whenever they try to make a surge. That balance is of utmost importance!
Loved the comparison of the layers and webs of thoughts with the motions of the moon – sometimes romping, sometimes demure. The more you uncover the layers – the more mystical, and intriguing it appears.
“Sometimes gone”…i wish it would had happened for me
and yes i also wish “i never knew you”
Very beautiful poem with some amazing words, presentation is really very nice.
This poem conjures up many images, oscillating between darkness and sunshine, balancing the mind. Love the expression “Well of dreams,” some such wells smother! Lovely reflections Mani.
I like how you admit there can be a darker side to us Earthlings. The full moon is a mysterious thing….things out of the ordinary tend to happen when it comes around. Your poem had a haunting feel and a good reminder that maybe we are all a bit crazy inside 😊
True that, Mabel. the full moon sometimes brings our negative sides to the open. The word ‘lunatic’ has its root in ‘lunar’. Maybe we all are insane at some point…right you are!
And how did I missed it. It’s beautiful..things can be so different on other side.Sometimes full, sometimes gone…

Thanks a lot, Mansi ❤ Yes, there's always another side, even the earth has day and night at the same time, only at the opposite sides… 🙂

Indeed…the human mind is the most complicated of all machines… there are layers behind layers…seems to be a bottomless abyss…

‘The other side of existence’ – nice Mani 😊 Most times it’s so much easier to deal with our physical existence – our mind can give us hell.

Sometimes trying to calm our minds seems as futile as trying to capture the moon by grasping at it’s reflection in a stream. Beautiful poem and photo.

Wonderful analogy! The labyrinth of mind, it’s beyond comprehension…we just deal with a tiny bit of it and that even drives us crazy at times…
