Celebrating Winter with Food and Shopping

The month of December denotes festivity. With a chilling breeze blowing outside, nothing could be better than enjoying with friends over good food. The weather here is perfect for outdoor activities as well; the azure sky with not a flake of cloud adorning itself with bright sunshine indeed invites everyone to indulge in happiness. We are going to enjoy a picnic on the coming weekend.

As it’s going to be a family picnic we have already settled on the menu. I’m going to prepare fruit cakes (yes, another blog post coming up on it 😀 ) for breakfast and, a quintessential Bengali sweet dish, pithe or pitha, as dessert after lunch. Others are making arrangements for fried rice, mutton and a few other sidekicks.

Satisfied with the plans on the gastronomical side, I was exploring the internet for a dress suitable for the occasion. Though a shopaholic like me seldom cares for a reason to fill the shopping cart, but this time, it was a genuine need as we have selected a dress-code for the picnic to add more pizzazz to it.

Every internet shopper looks out for a decent discount before indulging into shopping. I’ve recently come across a new site shopping site, voonik.com. They have brands from all across India and, the items and accessories are pretty cool and stylish. I was searching for some valid voonik coupons and was happy to discover a couple of them to go with my preferences. Thre is even a buy-one-get-one-free offer going on with men’s apparels that would help us to lead the dress-code in an affordable manner. Discounts and shopping coupons are almost like huge bundles of joy coming in a short URL, isn’t it? 😀

So, while enjoying the winter with fruits, cakes, exotic dishes, snowfall, celebrations, Christmas wishes, holiday, fun and warmth of love, let’s also satisfy the sartorial side for the season. After all, as the adage goes, if we look good, we will feel good.

  7. December always brings in so many emotions- there’s this feeling of the year coming to an end, new year rushing in ..and yes outings and parties. Online shopping does come in handy. Have heard of voonik. Will try it out. 😊 Enjoy your picnic. Put up a post on Peetha as well. 🤗

  11. That picnic sounds like it is going to be a lot of fun! I hope the fruit-cake making goes well. Personally I am not a fan of fruit cake, but maybe it is because I have not tried your fruit cake yet 😉 I too like discounts when shopping, every time whether online or in store. If it’s a chance to save and use that savings to buy more clothes later on, why not 😀 Wishing you a Merry Christmas, Mani!
