&pictures Presents Kiddies Express

Summer is in its full swing here in India, and most of the schools are going for vacations from the coming week. While the kids are busy enjoying themselves in the morning with swimming, playing, or other outdoor activities, it’s good to keep them engaged with something during the afternoon to save the delicate souls from the raging heat of the summer sun.

But, it’s difficult to keep the active kids confined at home. Every parent knows that. Keeping that in mind, India’s premium movie channel, &pictures, is going to bring up an exciting summer movie festival for children, ‘Kiddies Express’ comprising some esteemed and award-winning movies. Starting from Monday, 9th May, it will air daily at 12 noon up to Friday, 13th May.

So, before you are aboard, let’s have a sneak peek to the five enchanting movies.

Kung Fu Panda
In the Valley of Peace, Po the Panda, finds himself chosen as the Dragon Warrior despite the fact that he is obese and a complete novice at martial arts. The movie is directed by John Stevenson and Mark Osborne and stars the voices of veteran Hollywood talent like Jack Black, Dustin Hoffman, Angelina Jolie, Ian McShane, Seth Rogen, Lucy Liu, David Cross, Randall Duk Kim, James Hong, and Jackie Chan.

Life Lessons From the Movie

Madagascar
This film showcases the story of four animals who have spent their lives in blissful captivity in Manhattan’s Central Park Zoo. Chris Rock voices Marty, a jaded zebra is ready for a change after ten years of comfortable captivity at the Zoo. He flees for the green fields of Connecticut, prompting a rescue mission by his best friends: the Zoo’s star attraction Alex the lion (Ben Stiller), a bossy hippo named Gloria (Jada Pinkett Smith), and the clumsy, hypochondriac giraffe Melman (David Schwimmer). They are unexpectedly shipped back to Africa and end up getting shipwrecked on the island of Madagascar.

Stuart Little 2
With subtle humor, loveable characters, a great script by Bruce Joel Rubin (Academy Award-winner, “Ghost”), Stuart Little 2 is one of the best family films of the summer.Stuart Little 2 is a must-watch film for its characters, dialogue, music, and animation and fun moments. Stuart Little is courageous and humble while Snowbell is hilarious.

Life Lessons From the Movie
• Always look for the silver lining in the cloud.
• Respect relationships.
• Determination, trust, respect, and acceptance are foundations of a true friendship.

Jumanji
Based on a gorgeous picture book story of the same name by Chris Van Allsburg, Jumanji takes us through a beautiful magical adventure and makes it into a thrilling ride that defies everything.  The excellent combination of adventure and comedy are the big attractions. A timeless adventure film, Jumanji is about two kids who play a magical board game. They encounter various dangers which will come to an end only when the game is completed.

• Start what you can finish
• Be kind to everyone.
• Crying never solves a problem. You have to face it in order to kill it.

Mr. Go

 A crisp narrative and some truly amazing technical expertise combine to make Mr. Go one of the best family films with big laughs, big emotion, and even bigger thrills. The engaging plot offers a thoroughly enjoyable experience for all ages. It is based on the classic 1980s comic ‘7th Baseball Club’, the titular character refers to a 285 kg circus gorilla who is the first to be recruited by a savvy baseball agent to join the professional.

What makes it a must-see film is that it makes you smile with its heartwarming, poignant and inspirational story.

  1. It is interesting how kid movies have serious and deep messages behind… I felt so too when I watched Frozen… It is a movie which I actually find is not properly rated all ages, though… and that because I believe it shows many issues which might be better understood when kids grow up…

  3. You know I came here thinking you are giving a reveiw of the movie Kung Fu Panda 3… these movies I watched enough though am adult. My lastest was Jungle Book… even adults enjoy cartoon they are light and fun and have some nice message… now you know any thing about kung Fu Panda 3???… I think read the kids some books… read them Chrishmas Carol by Charles dickens and chocolate factory author books, though the movie chocolate factory is also very nice… and here please make this for them if they are seeing that movie… its is chocolate Laddu… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EFG4zGNlZz8 … I think that’s nice thing to make as well.

  4. I’ve seen the first four of these movies, but not Mr. Goo. It sounds interesting too, so I’ll try and look out for it if I get the chance. I’ll need one of my kids to watch it with me to give me cover, though. I don’t want to blow my sophisticated image. 🙂

  5. Whoa!

    I’m a huge fan of animated and comic movies, but never bothered to look at the life lessons they taught. A refreshing point of view, though! I prefer to watch them from a child’s vantage point. If I start brooding over the morals, I may become a grown up and then cease to enjoy them. As it is, the real life had already taught me a stomach full of lessons! There comes a time when we prefer to sit by the bank of the river of life and prefer to watch the waves of knowledge flow by idly, without trying to breast them. It’s like going to office on a day off and watch others toiling, while we do nothing. 😀

    All the parts of Kung Fu Panda and Madagascar are my favorite. I loved Jumanji 1st part more than the second. And, believe me or not, I was a great fan of that crazy and gun totting hunter! 😀

    • I am a big fan of cartoons and animations too. Along with my son, I keep watching everything; from the blue octopus Oswald to the weird world of Pokemon. 😀

      I think the moral lessons come easily while we watch cartoons. For a child, he doesn’t need to ponder over the lessons. Helping a friend, trust and courage being the most prominent lessons in most of the cartoons. 🙂 Kids are mature in their way, they grasp things more easily than us.

      By the way, Jumanji is one of my all time favourites! LOVE this movie… 😀

      • Nice taste! And, it makes a sense in a way. They are more mature than us in certain aspects as helping a friend, trust etc because they aren’t much practical. Wo to bas bade ho ke bigad jate hain! Don’t know if growing up is all that good as it’s hyped to be! 😀

  6. The movies are a refreshing watch anytime. I haven’t seen Mr Go but have seen Kungfu Panda, Madagascar and Jumanji umpteen times. Btw Po the Panda was the inspiration behind naming the hulo kitten, whose pic I had on my blog. 😀

    Though i am 19 now but still watch cartoons and cartoon films . I wish i also had a school summer break where i will watch these movies with my parents.

  19. This had an excellent list of children’s movies. I like Stuart Little and Kung Fu Panda, Maniparna.Jymanji was too serious for my younger grandies and still have not seen Mr.Go. I like how you told us life lessons for kiddies, dear! xo
