Sunshine

1-Puri 017

Blushing hues
Of the melting sun
Oozing over the blue sky
Slowly becoming a bright shadow
Golden

This is my first attempt to write a Sidlak poetry. Sidlak poetry (sid/lak) is a structured poetry consisting of 5 lines with 3-5-7-9 syllables AND A COLOR. The last line must be a COLOR that describes the whole poem or the feelings of the writer. Life comes in different shades and hues. The colorful the merrier. Show us your true colors. Write your first sidlak now. Thank you Quirky for letting me know of the form.

Here I am still struggling with haiku and never was able to churn out a single decent one and here you are not only flashing an unknown style, but doing it with aplomb too! Unfair, I say! Thank God, that at least I can understand it! That’s one consolation.

You really are gifted with words and rhymes! I can’t even call it rhymes! Let’s say, poetry.
