Profound. As usual. Childhood memories are most precious one’s. I think I am never gonna grow up. And that sand castle in the picture reminds me of my numerous attempts to build a proper castle by my own and I always failed. But even today, I still try to build a sand castle whenever I am in the beaches.
We never outgrow our childhood and revert to it in our old age. There’s a small section of life, when we act matured and behave as adults. But, when we grow old, we compare the books and decide ki bachpan me hi zyada khush the! Then we discard the veneer of maturity and begin our second childhood in old age. The same tantrums and free laughter.
I hope, I live long enough to act as the brat I was as a child! 😀
Very beautiful haiku and as all haiku go, exquisite and deep.
That naughty and tension-free kid is still somewhere there…in our hearts. We don’t want to grow up we just act like a grown up…. 🙂 bachpan ki yaadein…gur se bhi mitha..imli se bhi khatta…. 😀
Freud believed the character-structure of a person is formed during childhood. According to psychoanalysis, childhood memories are responsible for adult’s behavior.
Memories of childhood are the most precious, even if there may be just a few pleasant ones but they always fill our leisure hours with an instant glow. Love that picture Mani…so symbolic of blissful times! 🙂
How true! Childhood shapes the foundation of future and we feel happy to recall the endearing memories of the the sand castles we build, the games and mischief we played in the childhood. 🙂
I like the order you chose to write this haiku. Childhood is based on memories and I feel bad for some who don’t have happy ones, Maniparna. Hope you have a wonderful week. ♡
Wisdom evoking nostalgia ..eh ?
Trust you do to anything Mani … Another gem from you 🙂

Absolutely…. no doubt about it. We learn new things as we grow up, but the inherent traits of childhood affect all our learning and knowledge…

You had a great childhood, otherwise, you couldn’t possibly be grown up as a nice human being as you are… 🙂

Nahi re, I had lot of bad experiences in childhood. I don’t think I am a nice human being as well re. Here we show only our better side, right?
😛 Midnight thoughts. Hehe

Yes, we show our better sides here, but I don’t think we are that much bad, honestly. 🙂 There are monstrous souls roaming around on this planet…

Can’t compare to them by any chance. Well, they don’t blog or do better things in life because of their monstrous soul.

True that. I feel having a not-so-good childhood is the worst thing for a person 😦 It could make the whole life miserable…
