My Experience With ASUS Zenphone 6, Z002

The ASUS Zenfone 6, Model: A601CG/Z002 is the biggest member of the ASUS Zenfone family. When I received the review phone, the first thing that I observed was the size. With a 6-inch 1280x 720 pixel IPS screen, it looks huge! But the effect and experience do matter with a large screen and, in this case, my motto is the bigger, the better. The Capacitive Touch Screen has powerful  Corning® Gorilla® Glass 3 which produces a silky sensation when touched. With a 10-finger Multitouch option panel, it is quite easy to operate. The spectacular Glove Touch feature makes it absolutely smooth to operate even while wearing gloves.

ASUS, the company which is on a constant strive to unite perfection with style, has reached its pinnacle with Zenfone 6 Z002. Though the screen is large but the phone is sleek and compact and easy to hold. The device comes with a 2GB RAM and 1.6 GHz Intel Atom Z2560 Dual Core Processor which have made it seamlessly functional with multitasking. The gaming experience is wonderful and this matters a lot to me.

Though I’m not an addict, but I love to play games on my mobile. It acts as a great stress buster for me. So, the first thing I did after receiving the phone, was to download Asphalt 8: Airborne, this being one of my favourites. After that, I bought The Room, this is another one which I’m finding very interesting these days. With 16GB of available storage which is expandable up to 64 GB, I can download anything and everything. The unique ZenUI has made 3D gaming stunning indeed. Moreover, weighing only 200gm (approx) it doesn’t feel  cumbersome at all and thus gaming experience becomes all the more thrilling.

With my previous phone which belongs  to a popular brand, multitasking sometimes was really time-consuming. But after using Zenfone 6 for about 10 days, I can safely conclude that multitasking is an absolutely incredible experience with this phone. You can easily operate your different mail accounts while playing or listening to music. I simultaneously use my gmail and my official mail id and it works smoothly. The interface, unlike many other high-end smartphones, is extremely user-friendly. Though equipped with numerous features, this is the best thing about Zenfone 6 that you don’t have to spend much time to understand the way it works.

The battery life is pretty cool and lasts for about 8-10 hours if you use it for various purposes like gaming, watching movies or listening music, apart from the usual works. It takes less time to get charged also.  When used moderately, the non-detachable 3300 mAh Lithium battery lasts even longer.

So, till now, I’m finding Zenfone 6 A601CG/Z002 from ASUS India as one of the most integrated phablets within the price range of INR 16,000- INR 18,000. With a simple yet stylish design, it is sure to attract your attention. But as the handset colour is Pure White, you need to use a flip cover to prevent the rear side from attracting dirt. Another thing is the size. Though I find it quite convenient, but that it can’t be safely put in the pocket, can be an issue sometimes. Not compatible with 4G but works really fast with ordinary Wi-Fi connection. There are many more attractive and exclusive features which have made this phone irresistible. I love #MyAsusZenFone.

In my next post, I’ll discuss the camera features of  Zenfone 6, which is also an attraction to me and I’m exploring the primary camera (13MP) in every possible way. Stay tuned.

  4. Somehow Asus Zenfone did not go well with me. I bought Zenfone 5 few months back from Flipkart. After using it for 5 days, something went wrong and phone speaker stopped working. I cannot even call anyone. So flipkart refunded me the full amount and I bought Moto G 2nd Gen which I am using for the last 4 months now. And I must say that I liked Moto G 2nd Gen better than Zenfone 5. Especially with my usage the Zenfone battery lasted only 7-8 hours which means I have to carry a power bank with me. But Moto G battery lasted atleast a day. (24hours)

Again as you said it depends on person to person and their usage as well. But for me thumbs up for Moto G and thumbs down for Zenfone! 🙂

  5. 6 inch is such a turn off. Seriously, I chucked the Nexus 6 to buy an HTC one M8 only cos of the screen size. I would seriously not buy this for the same reason, and that’s just my opinion.

The specs look yummy for the price, 2 gb ram is more than decent I must say. Why didn’t you review the cam? or is it on the way?

There are many manufacturers these days coming out with good phones. Xiaomi is one, I must admit.

Also I must mention that HTC one M8’s battery lasts 24 hours at least even after blasting it with 4g for at least 4-6 hrs. My phone is 19hrs and 21mins without charging, all the time on mobile data, half the time on wifi, it was awake for quarter of the time and still 35% to go. That’s one good thing about my phone 😀 but price wise I must say the zenfone looks good too.

    Thanks for sharing. 🙂
